Straight eight cucumber is a great tasting slicing variety
cucumber. Good in
salads, on sandwiches, eaten raw and for other fresh uses. Small young
straight eight cucumbers are excellent pickled.
Choose a sunny well drained location
to plant your straight eight cucumber seeds.
Plant later in the spring when soil is warm and ALL danger of frost is past.
Sow 6-8 Straight Eight Cucumber Seeds 1" deep in hills 3" apart. Thin to 3
straight eight cucumber seedlings per hill when 3" tall.
Cover
when a threat of 40 degrees or cooler is present during spring. For earlier
crop start
inside 4-6 weeks before setting out. Pick often to encourage more fruit sets.
