The Royal Burgundy bush bean is glossy purple that will turn green when
boiled or blanched. These beans are awesome eaten raw, steamed or boiled
and are great for canning and freezing. The pods grow 6" long and give a
high yield. These low maintenance beans grow upright and require no
staking.
Sow seeds in a sunny location outdoors in late spring when all danger of
frost has passed. Plant 1˝" deep and 3" apart. Keep moderately moist
during germination, which takes between 7 and10 days. Thin 4 to 6" apart
when seedlings are 3" tall. You should be eating fresh beans in just 52
days. Remember to pick your beans often to promote a continual harvest
until the first frost.
These brightly colored pods are especially great for families with
children who like to help in the garden because the beans are very easy
to see.These seeds are for
planting only. They have been treated with captan, thiram and
methoxyclor. Do not use for food, feed or oil purposes.
