Lemon Basil Annual

The fresh citrus scent of lemon basil and its nice mild flavor make this herb a must have in your garden. Lemon Basil is a delicious flavoring on grilled fish or shrimp as well as pasta dishes and vegetables and chicken.

Lemon basil is a tropical plant and needs to be in direct sunlight for at least 6 hours a day. Lemon Basil is quite hardy and will grow easily from seed.

Lemon basil has white flowers that bloom in late summer to early fall. The leaves are similar to basil only narrower.

Sow Lemon Basil seeds outdoors after all danger of frost has passed and the soil is warm. Plant ¼ inch deep and 1 inch apart. Germination takes 5-14 days. Thin to 8" apart when plants are 2" tall. 80 days to maturity.

Start indoors 6-8 weeks before transplanting outside.
