Cilantro is the plant, coriander is the
seed. Both of these spices are valuable, but we use cilantro a lot for making salsa. If
you can your own salsa or just make it fresh, cilantro from the garden is a must. Cilantro
is very expensive to buy, but you can grow it dirt cheap. A few plants go a long way. We
sometimes use the green seed in our salsa . Just put the sprigs in a spice bag and cook
away. Cilantro is very common in other Mexican foods also.
