Beefsteak Tomato seeds produces huge, delicious, fruits that grow so big you will need to grow them in wire cages. Great sliced and put on a sandwich or just eaten with salt. Also known as Red Ponderosa tomato. Beefsteak Tomato seeds are best started 6-8 weeks before last spring frost. Sow seed ¼" deep in seed starting formula and keep moist. Beefsteak Tomato seedlings will emerge in 7-14 days at 70-80°F. Transplant to individual containers when Beefsteak tomato seedlings have at least 2 pairs of leaves. Before transferring to your garden, accustom seedlings to outdoor conditions by moving them to a sheltered place outside for a week. Sow Beefsteak Tomato seedlings 2-3 feet apart after all danger of frost has past. Using a trellis often increases yield and helps keep tomatoes off the ground where they are prone to disease and rot. Good air circulation around plants also helps prevent disease.
