Must be seen to be fully respected. These plants produce stunning
scarlet colored flowers that appear to be painted over with clear gloss.
Hardy heat and drought tolerant. Prefers full sun and well drained soil.
Native to northern Africa and Southern Europe. Best effect when planted
in tight groups. Blooms April through September in the right location.
Scarlet Flax can be grown widely across the
continental United States.
Plant in spring when all chance of frost has passed. Sow seeds 1/16"
deep and thin to 3-5 inches. Keep moist until established. Scarlet Flax
requires very little attention once it takes hold.
