Lemon Mint annual
Monarda Citriodora (Lamiaceae)This member of the mint family flowers out in a stepped spike formation. The
blooms are lovely purple to lavender. Tolerates dry soil and prefers full sun.
Hummingbirds and butterflies love these. Dried flowers have a beautiful citrus aroma.
Dried stems make for an interesting addition to any dried floral
arrangement.
Sow seeds after all danger of frost has passed. Plant ⅛" deep and 3"
apart. Germination takes
10-30 days. Thin to 6" apart when plants are 2" tall. Plant gets abut 2-3 feet tall.
