Indian Blanket annual
Gaillardia pulchella
Brilliant red flowers tipped with a bright yellow edge makes Indian
Blanket one of the showiest wildflowers around! One of my all time
favorites the "Fire Wheel" is very hardy, drought tolerant
and easily established from seed.
This striking daisy like
flower grows on strong, stiff stems and has a vase life of 6-10 days, making it
an excellent cut flower!
The Fire Wheel does well in sandy or well-drained soil with full sun and grows to a height of
1 to 2 feet tall. Blooms May-September. Sow seeds outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. Cover seed with
⅛" fine soil. Patience is required as
germination takes 15 to 45 days. Keep moderately moist during
germination. Thin 8 - 12" apart when plants are 2 - 3 inches tall.
Packet contains 100+ seeds.
